The Different Kinds of
Meets There are many different kinds of meets the River Racers
participate on. Some of the words may
seem confusing. Here are basic
definitions that we use on the River Racers.
This is just a basic explanation.
For more info, send us an email at info@desplainesswimming.org CONFERENCE MEET A meet that is between the teams that are part of our
conference. The name of our conference
league is the Northwest Illinois Swim Conference (NWISC). DUAL MEET A meet against two teams. TRI MEET A meet against three teams. ISI MEET A large, multi-day meet, generally run as an invite. The meet is generally split up by age
group. CHAMPIONSHIP MEET A meet run similar to regular ISI meets, where athletes have
achieved minimum time standards. SANCTIONED MEET A meet that is run in accordance with the rules and procedures
of Illinois Swimming and USA Swimming.
