SPRING/SUMMER
REGISTRATION INFORMATION –
3/5/08
The Des Plaines River Racers spring and summer information is now
being posted on the registration pages.
Please check it out for the latest information regarding the River
Racers. Spring swimming runs April
14 – June 5. The summer
season will run June 9 – August 8, 2008.
NOTICE: CHANGE IN SCHEDULE - BOARD OF DIRECTORS
MEETING – 3/5/08
The Des Plaines Swimming Board of Directors have
announced a change to their normal meeting schedule. The meeting originally scheduled for
Tuesday, March 11, will not be held on Wednesday, March 12 at 6pm at the Maine West Pool. If you have any questions, concerns, or

COLD WEATHER
POLICIES - – 1/20/08
The River Racers will suspend operations whenever Maine Township
District 207 shuts down their buildings.
If Maine West is closed to due weather, all activities are cancelled
for the day, regardless of improved conditions unless otherwise noted. Updates can always be found on the River
Racers website.

FLICK & FLOAT
MOVIE NIGHT – FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 16 – 11/12/07
Friday, November 16 will feature an season
transition favorite – our annual flick and float. Swimmers are welcome to come with the
floats as we show our swimmers the feature
“Elf” Please bring a dish/something to eat. More to go home with swimmers. Download

MAINE WEST RELEASES “SUPERBUG” INFO –
10/22/07
Maine West has released a letter to all student athletes regarding
the “Superbug” virus that has
been reported in our area. They also
outline the steps they are taking to remain proactive about the threat in
and around the building. There is
also information and steps that athletes and parents can take to reduce
their chances of catching the virus.
While no outbreak has been reported in our immediate area,
the news has gotten our attention. Click here for a letter from MW.
RIVER RACERS FALL
INFO IS NOW OUT – 8/22/07
The River Racers are
now accepting registration for its upcoming fall season which begins on
September 10. Informational tryout
sessions will be held September 5 & 6 at Maine West High School. See our homepage for more links on
registering for our program.
CONFERENCE
CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS – 7/24/07
Results are now
available from the Northwest Illinois Swim Conference meet that was held at
the Dundee
Rec
Center
July 20-22. Six members of the River
Racers participated in the event and had good days. Complete set of meet results are

RIVER RACERS DUAL
AGAINST MUNDELEIN – 6/23/07
The River Racers
completed their first dual swim meet of the summer season against the
Mundelein Mustangs. Unfortunately,
the River Racers lack numbers this summer in order to match the Mundelein
Team. Mundelein
won the meet 431-121. Complete meet results are available here. The River Racers are back in meet action
on Thursday, June 28 against Highland Park
High School. The meet will be held at Maine West
beginning at 6pm.
